Another huge step has been completed. Our application was approved and our final paperwork has been filled out and sent back in to the agency. This round of paperwork consists of the following:
Financial Statement; Past three years of tax returns; Medical consent forms from our primary physician; Medical consent forms from the both of us; Home study agreement completed, along with the fee/payment included; Copies of our drivers license, and a picture of us.
Once this information is received and acknowledged by the agency, we will be contacted by our assigned social worker. This should happen within the next week to two weeks. After we are contacted by the social worker, our three month home study process will begin.
In the meantime, we have to register to have numerous background checks with all states we have lived in since the age of 17 and with the FBI. We also have to make appointments to be finger- printed.
The adoption process consists of a lot of waiting, but we just keep telling oursleves we have waited this long, we can wait a bit longer. It will all be so worth it in the end.
